Columbine Health Memory Care: Compassionate Support for Those Affected by Memory Loss

Memory care services play a crucial role in providing your loved one with a comfortable and nurturing environment. Columbine Health System’s Memory Care centers on creating a warm and welcoming space that feels like home for residents. To help those navigating memory loss, it is vital to understand the correct care and services needed to enhance their quality of life.

Memory care encompasses specialized care and housing for older adults with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. These facilities are thoughtfully designed to provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals with dementia. Columbine Health offers multiple memory care centers, each with unique features to meet your loved one's specific needs, including New Mercer Commons, Lemay Avenue Health & Rehab Facility, and Columbine West Health & Rehab Facility.

Columbine Health offers a wide range of activities designed to foster community connection and support for memory care residents. From daily meditation, exercise, and music programs to personalized care plans, memory cafes, and therapy sessions, Columbine Health ensures that every resident is treated with the utmost respect and care. Makayla Kraemer, the Admissions Director at New Mercer Commons, believes that these types of activities are beneficial to not only the memory care residents but all care providers to ensure the safety of their loved ones. She feels that there is a sense of community through and through with every memory care event provided by Columbine Health.

In partnership with Dementia Together, Columbine Health will be hosting a series of events from September 9-13 in honor of Dementia Week. This week is dedicated to bringing awareness about dementia and breaking the stigma surrounding it. With these events, Columbine Health hopes to engage the community and bring hope to those affected by memory loss.
