Director of Restorative Therapy

The Director of Restorative Therapy works with residents needing restorative nursing measures to gain or to maintain their highest, possible, practical functioning level. The Director of Restorative Therapy directly supervises the restorative aides; must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care and restorative nursing; must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care; must be knowledgeable of administrative practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to wage and hour, labor relations, OSHA, etc.; must have computer experience, be knowledgeable about systems applications, and be able to use common office equipment; must be able to relate, document, and input information regarding a patient's condition; must attend in and participate in continuing education programs; and must be able to lift, pull, and push a minimum for fifty pounds.

Must be a minimum of 25 years of age and of good moral character; possess a nursing degree from an accredited college or university; have a current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Colorado; have as a minimum, six months of training or experience in restorative nursing; and possess a working knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, and disease process, positioning, seating requirements, and aseptic technique to include universal precautions.
